At Chic Shades Hair, our color services are earned — never rushed. We require an in-person foundation service before any color appointment so we can fully assess the true health and structural integrity of your hair. During this foundational visit we:

• Evaluate your hair from root to ends to determine elasticity, porosity, and overall strength.

• Treat with protein and moisture where needed to restore balance and resilience.

• Address and trim compromised ends so your hair can perform predictably under color.

This step protects your hair and preserves our standard of care. Hair that has been continuously and properly maintained is better able to take color, hold vibrancy, and withstand the chemical process with less breakage and longer-lasting results. The foundation service also begins the salon-client relationship—giving us direct insight into your hair history, lifestyle, and realistic maintenance expectations so we can personalize color recommendations and aftercare.

We no longer offer virtual consultations for color. Video and photo assessments limit our ability to evaluate the hair’s structural condition and can mask subtle but important issues that affect safety and outcome. By requiring an in-person foundation service, we ensure every color service we provide is appropriate, healthy, and aligned with our commitment to restoration.
